Starting test for Operation Pelagos: the “MV Brigitte Bardot”, Sea Shepherd Italy, the Università di Siena and the “Cima Foundation” join their forces for a research campaign in the Pelagos Sanctuary. Sea Shepherd is going to assist the researchers, who will carry out photo-identification of cetacean specimens present in the in the area in which the study will take place, we will take tissue samples from live animals (biopsies), and acquire qualitative and quantitative data concerning the presence of plastic in the water.
